If you wish to take this advice then you need to ask for a website that is built using a content management system, often known by the abbreviation CMS. A CMS can be expensive but there are plenty of free or nearly free systems that your web designer could use. Dont let your request for a content management system be an excuse for an inflated quote.

Content Management system do need some skill in programming for web designers to set up and running. A lot of website designers are missing the skill required.

If you do not wish your website to be out of date and stale then make sure you do not get stuck depending on your website designer to make changes going forward.
